Ravioli Party

My friend Aquafabulous decided to host a ravioli-making (and eating party). I thought it was an awesome idea! We wound up making a whole bunch of different flavors, most of them vegan. A feast was had by all. I have some photographs of the ravioli-making process, but none of the people since I didn't feel like asking for permission to post them. Instead I'll give you a quick how-to of ravioli making.

Step 1: Assemble your fillings:

Some of our fillings.

Step 2: Make your dough, roll it out thin and flat, and drape it on your ravioli tray (or just lay it flat on the table if you don't have one).
Putting the pasta dough on the ravioli tray.

Step 3: Put little blobs of filling on your dough. If you have a ravioli tray they go in the wells, if not just try and get them evenly spaced.
Filling the tray.

Step 4: Cover the ravioli filling with another sheet of dough, pinch the parts around the filling closed, and cut it out in the shape of ravioli.
Ravioli!

Step 5: Boil the ravioli.

Step 6: Set the table so it's pretty.

Step 7: Eat your delicious food.

Christmas Recap

On the day before Christmas Eve, Joy and Mini T and I went to visit Belle at her parents' house. We walked the dogs in their adorable Christmas attire, Mini T got her present from Belle, and then we got a phone call from Joy's friend asking if we wanted to stay in a hotel for the night. Of course the answer was yes! So we all piled into a gorgeous room at the hotel. We did our present swap there, swam in the pool, and ate free food while looking out at a gorgeous view of Boston.

On Christmas Eve I did family Christmas dinner with some of my extended family. Then that night I had Cupcake over for presents, panettone, and hot chocolate. We lit the Christmas tree, put on some Christmas music, and I found a channel on Netflix that was just two hours of video of fire because our chimney isn't usable and I wanted a fireplace. Joy and Mini T joined us in their footie pjs for the hot chocolate part.

On Christmas day I woke up and did housemate Christmas, where I finally got to unveil my Christmas video! I'd been working on it for a while with the help of Cupcake and Atticus. After housemate Christmas I did a quick stop to see my brother and his fiancée. Then it was off to Queer Family Christmas where we ate an amazing dinner by Purl and a yule log made by Fancy.

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas and now that I've debuted it before all of my housemates, I can show you the Christmas present I was working on. The Twelve Days of Christmas - Co-op Style!

Enjoy! Some of the formatting got a little wonky when I uploaded it but I think it came out well.

Vermont!

This weekend Cupcake and I drove up to Vermont to hang out with Atticus. We had a blast! We started the weekend with a very looooooong snowy drive. But when we arrived, we made tasty dinner, Atticus made some delicious drinks, and before long we were all hanging out in her living room with a bunch of cozy blankets and my Super Secret Christmas Present (to be revealed on Christmas). The next morning, I woke to this view:

View out of Atticus' window.

We'd decided to do a culinary tour of Vermont, so we started things off by getting breakfast at a Dutch pancake house that Cupcake had heard about.

Atticus and me at the pancake house.

After breakfast, we headed to Stowe and wandered into a bunch of little craft shops because we needed some time to digest before eating anything else:

After that, we went off to Lake Champlain chocolates (no photos of that) and we took a random pit stop where we discovered a ginormous apple cider press, live bees, and a bunch of free samples.

Bees!

From there we went to the Cabot Cheese outlet, where we gorged ourselves and Cupcake posed as a cow.

After that it was time for our last stop - the Ben and Jerry's factory! Cupcake and I joined forces to tackle the biggest ice cream sunday ever. Ok that's not true. It's the "Mini Vermonster" which means there is an even bigger one we didn't get because Atticus was done with food and there was no way two people could've handled it.

At this point we were all so stuffed that the food tour was over and Atticus needed a nap. So we went back to her place and then Cupcake and I headed home, with one last pit stop late at night for vegan pizza. Because oh man I was so done with dairy at that point.
