Communist Propaganda

I found this on a walk today:

The poster on the telephone pole. 

The first panel has a man and a woman talking and the man says "Everyone knows that the rich are a bunch of bloodsuckers." In the second panel the woman says "But what if I could show you proof? Then would you fight?" The third panel has the man and woman dragging a coffin into the courtyard of a mansion and it says "Lets drag these vampires into the daylight." The fourth panel has the man and the woman looking at a vampire in a business suit in the coffin. The fifth and sixth panels have the businessman-vampire burning up and across the bottom of both panels is a banner that says "Bloodsuckers and parasites go to hell! Teach yourself to spot them, organize to fight back!"

I might just be on board...

Jacketgate

People dress for various reasons, but one reason is to send a message. Here’s one horrid message:

Melania Trump decided to visit a detention center full of immigrant children while wearing an oversized army jacket from Zara that said “I really don’t care, do u?”

I’ll just let that sink in for a second.

Now, her communications director Stephanie Grisham is quoted as saying “It’s a jacket, there was no hidden message” and “I hope the media isn’t going to focus on her wardrobe” but let’s be real: Melania Trump is not stupid. People don’t wear outfits with words unless they feel like those words are appropriate for the occasion. Melania Trump went to see children who have been separated from their parents by her husband’s shitty policy decisions – and it was literally written across her back that she doesn’t care.

Reasons why I think this was intentional:

1) The jacket costs under $50 and her wardrobe is usually FAR more expensive than that.
2) It was hot out so wearing any sort of coat was a very odd choice.
3) She wore a Gucci pussy-bow blouse after the pussygate tapes were released and a white trouser suit the first time she went out in public after allegations surfaced about Trump’s affair with Stormy Daniels. This incident marks the third outfit-related political statement and third time’s the charm so I think it’s fair to say it was intentional.

Too bad I don’t have an appropriately outraged reply jacket to wear as a retort to her wardrobe choices.

Circle The Square Medford

Today Waldo and I went to Circle The Square in the center of Medford. They had all kinds of performers - singers, dancers, circus performers, puppets - various carnival games, street vendors with food, and even spider man. It was a good time.

Beach Day

Today I went to Rockport for a beach day with Belle, Joy, Mini T, and Joy's cousin. We made a marvelous sand castle dragon lair:

Wolfie Got The Dress!

Wolfie received the pillow dress and marble. She loves them both! She refuses to take the dress off and has named her marble "ma petite bête" and is carrying it around everywhere. Apparently I should have made a couple dresses so her moms would be able to wash them without drama?

I Got A New CNA Job

The job is in pediatrics and this is week three. In the interests of HIPPA I'm keeping the location and any identifying patient details private. That said, I've learned a few things. 1) Kids ALWAYS take off their oxygen even when they need it to breathe; 2) They also take off their nebulizer masks mid-treatment; 3) You can turn pretty much anything into a game. 4) I hadn't seen a g-tube before this but I'm confident with them now since so many kids have them. 

In other news, I've definitely got a favorite patient. If anyone tells you they don't have favorite patients they're lying. Everyone I work with has a favorite. The good news is, I'm pretty sure that every kid here is at least one staff member's favorite kid. So at least the love gets spread around!

Eagles!

Today I went for a walk with Waldo and we found a nest of eagles in a tree. At least I think they're eagles? They could be hawks or something since I'm not good at bird identification. The big tree in the back of the baseball green is the one that had the eagles.

Bowling Day

Today Waldo and I went bowling and then out to ice cream.
